As one of the last of the sixth series, Joseph Figoni (from 1935 Figoni & Falaschi) had a Gran Sport chassis delivered to his workshop in Boulogne-sur-Seine near Paris in 1933. Because of the "birthplace" of the body structure, "Alfa-Romeo Paris" is written on the radiator grille logo. This 6C coupé is a very typical drop-shaped design of the time, which should suggest speed and good aerodynamics and as it was already known from another famous Frenchman: Bugatti.

In 1933, Figoni presented his 6C coupé in black and white two-tone paint at the Paris Salon on the Alfa stand and later won a number of prizes in beauty contests, such as in Nice and Monte Carlo in 1934.

Dirty race version: Special Edition for Autopioneer

This is the Scuderia Ferrari Alfa Romeo that was driven to a class victory in the 1934 1000 Miglia. The car is a 1933 Alfa Romeo 6C Gran Sport 1500 testa fissa Zagato, a special competition version of one of the most successful forebears of the modern sports car.
This particular 6C Gran Sport 1500 testa fissa (s/n 10811406) was built in 1933. It was the very last original 6C Gran Sport model built, and in addition to its rare engine, it featured one-off competition coachwork by Zagato.

The car was specially constructed for Anna Maria Peduzzi, the 21-year-old daughter of a wealthy family from Como. Known within racing circles as La Marocchina (the Moroccan) due to her dark complexion, she was out to beat men at their own game — and in 1933 Peduzzi became Scuderia Ferrari’s first woman race driver.

Under the Ferrari banner, she finished third in class in the grueling Targa Abruzzo and fourth in class at the Stelvio Hillclimb against her all male competitors. She scored a class victory at the Coppa Principessa di Piemonte, an endurance race in southern Italy. Then, in April 1934, Peduzzi won her class at the 1000 Miglia. She drove with fiancé, Gianfranco Comotti, another member of Scuderia Ferrari, and the couple achieved an impressive 13th-place overall in a rain-soaked race dominated by the more powerful 8C Alfas.

This 1929 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 SS 'Super Sport' Two Seater wears coachwork by Touring. Its chassis number relates to one of the first Super Sport 6C1750s dating from the first year of production, 1929. Just 121 of these third series Super Sports were built (with and without superchargers) according to Alfa Romeo's records; they were numbered 0312851 to 0312971. The early history of 0312901 is unknown. Whatever its early history, the car appeared in South Africa owned by Lex Williamson in 1936.

The Carrozzeria Touring was an Italian coachbuilder. The company was founded in Milan in 1926 by Felice Bianchi Anderloni. Touring made a name for itself with the patented Superleggera (Italian for “super light”) construction. At the end of 1966, Carrozzeria Touring had to close its doors forever.

Alfa Romeo and Pininfarina share a great love affair. In 2010, Alfa Romeo celebrated its centenary and Pininfarina its eightieth. In fact, 2uetto refers to the Duetto Spider, which was introduced in the 1966 and produced in modified form until the 1990s. Ottanta, 80 in Italian, symbolises, as already mentioned, the duration of the collaboration between Alfa Romeo and Pininfarina.

Alfa Romeo the type TZ (Tubolare Zagato) as a roadworthy racing car at the Turin Motor Show in 1962. Consistent lightweight construction including a space frame and aluminium body enabled the weight of the sports car, based in other respects on the engineering of the Giulia 1600, to be reduced by 70 kg. Limited series production started in 1963 and came to an end in 1965 after only 102 examples had been produced with Zagato bodies. Most TZ sports car competed intensively in a wide range of races and often achieved leading places.

The car shown here (and therefore the model car) is a one-off with a body designed by Pininfarina. This concept car was presented in public for the first time in 1965 at the 47th Turin Motor Show. The car is currently in an unusual original condition and is still finished in the original paintwork.
