Elegance, quality and style
The Lancia Astura was an automobile of the manufacturer Lancia, which was produced from 1931 to 1939. Pininfarina bodied this beautiful Lancia in 1939.
In 1930 Batista Farina founded the Carrozzeria Pininfarina in Turin. The company quickly made a name for itself, because Farina's knowledge of aerodynamics, the science that was the focus in the 1930s, gave his vehicles a futuristic extravagance that was highly functional but not over the top. Pininfarina celebrates its 90th birthday in 2020. Today it is the classics with the small red-blue company emblem with the crown above the "f" that are particularly valued in the Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Maserati and Peugeot, Citroën and Rolls-Royce ranges. Even for the US Cadillac brand, some models were drawn by Pininfarina. In retrospect, the Pininfarina company is one of the most important in automotive design.
