Ready in time for the 1952 Mille Miglia, this 225 S Vignale Berlinetta was sold new to Count Antonio Sterzi. Sharing with Nino Rovelli, he failed to reach the finish in the Mille Miglia. Later in the year, Bruno Sterzi raced the car with great success with victories including the Coppa InterEuropea at Monza. A few years later, the car was badly damaged in a fire but the remains were salvaged and sold to the United States. A restoration was started during the late 1980s while in American ownership. It was not completed until the car was acquired by an Argentinean collector, who also reunited the car with its original engine. He had the car restored by Ferrari Classiche and first showed it at the 2016 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
