This Delahaye 148 N Berline with a long chassis was equipped with a heavy sedan body from Chapron. The car was originally ordered for the French President Albert Lebrun, but was no longer delivered there due to the outbreak of war. Albert François Lebrun was a French politician, statesman, and last President of the Third Republic from 1932 to 1940.

Henri Chapron was a French bodywork manufacturer. The company was founded in 1919 by Henri Chapron. In the period before World War II, Chapron was the preferred bodywork supplier for Delage and Delahaye; In the post-war period, the company achieved fame above all for its special bodies for the Citroën DS, which include various convertibles. From 1920 to 1985, Chapron manufactured more than 10,000 vehicle bodies.
