Pop art on four wheels

It is regarded as a cult object with a timeless symbolic character, which is intended to inspire the future and the changing times - and to make people smile: The "New Horizon" is not a classic art car commissioned by BMW AG, but a matter close to the heart of the Frankfurt lawyer Christian Zschocke. In 2016, the art lover and automobile enthusiast assembled a renowned jury to select a suitable design for his 1969 BMW 2500.

The Bielefeld artist Heiner Meyer convinced her with his graphic and motley design - an allusion to the optimism of the future of the late 1960s. Together with the painter and artist Walter Maurer, who already looked after the art cars for Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and Co., Meyer brought his design to the car.
