Pietro Frua was one of the great freelance body designers at the “Scuola Italiana”, which created the “Italian Line” named after her in the early 1950s. Pietro Frua designed and built more than 210 one-offs, prototypes, small and large series vehicles based on the mechanics of almost all of Europe's major automobile manufacturers. The BMW 2000 ti Coupé was built by him (project number 350) for an unknown customer and exhibited at the Paris Salon in October 1968.
