This bespoke Ferrari is a special 410 Superamerica, commissioned by long time Ferrari owner Dr. Enrico Wax in 1956. Scaglietti fixed his own badge "Carrozzerie Speciali" on the car to underline the rarity of a Scaglietti built one-off for an individual client. Wax sold the car about two years later and it was exported to the United States. The car was heavily modified with different rear fenders, a flat hood scoop instead of the round original and extended front fenders with covered headlights. Unfortunately, in 1973 the car was stolen and when the thief realized it was a unique machine, he removed the body and discarded it in a lake. The running chassis was sold. The rolling chassis was eventually recovered by Ferrari collector Greg Garrison in 1986. He bought it from a farmer who intended it to use it as some sort of tractor. The unique body was missing almost entirely, but with the help of Sergio Scaglietti, and four workers who originally built the car, #0671SA was rebuilt. Although the car was originally painted black, Garrison decided to finish it in a dark burgundy red. Upon completion, after two years of work, the car returned to California and was displayed at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance where it was awarded 'Best of Class'. After Garrison died, the car was auctioned in 2007 by Gooding & Company for $1,320,000 including buyer's premium.

The Carrozzeria Scaglietti was an Italian automobile design and body construction company for super sports cars founded by Sergio Scaglietti in 1951, based in Maranello. Scaglietti has been part of Ferrari since 1977.
