As on March 14, 1935 the company Neue Röhr AG closed its factory gates forever an era came to its end. With its opulent vehicles the company appealed mostly well-heeled customers, but in the end the Neue Röhr AG could not gain acceptance and was not able to compete with its competitors.
The highlight of the car range was a noble streamlined sedan, although it just served as a showpiece. Demonstrably, the feudal vehicle was exhibited and presented to the public at the exhibitions stands of Neue Röhr AG in Geneva, Paris and Berlin in the years 1932 and 1933. Undoubtedly, the big car cast a spell over the people. Underneath the long-drawn engine cover a 3.5 liter, 75 hp-strong eight-cylinder engine with the serial number 161001 was built in. Originator of this engine was no one less than Ferdinand Porsche from Stuttgart. Back then, admittedly, just known in insider circles. The impressive specifications of the engine alone proved the car to be in the top vehicle class. In the summer respectively autumn of 1932 the engine was fitted to the chassis of the Type F and brought to the company Autenrieth located in nearby Darmstadt. But instead of the usual luxury superstructures the car was fitted with an aerodynamically sophisticated car body. Windscreen and radiator grille were more inclined than usual. In view of that the car was intended for a high sustained speed, three additional, smaller headlights were installed beside the both obligatory headlights.
In today’s language the luxury, streamlined sedan would be designated as the eye-catcher of the exhibition stand. Most probably due to its unique design the car became the embodiment of the company Neue Röhr AG and anchored in the people’s minds as the most popular car of this company until today.
