The Panther De Ville is an automobile by the British vehicle manufacturer Panther Westwinds (Weybridge). The design was inspired by the Bugatti Royale. The chassis was developed by Panther itself. The drive technology came largely from Jaguar; this applied to the engine as well as to the automatic transmission and other components. The De Ville was built with a 4.2L or 5.3L engine. Between 1974 and 1982, 46 saloons, 11 convertibles, 1 coupé and 1 extended six-door saloon were built for a prince from Malaysia. Other notable owners of a De Ville were for example Elton John, Liz Tayler and the actor Oliver Reed.
