Duck tours are amphibious tourist buses that are used in many harbour, river and seaside towns. They are based on American amphibious military vehicles from the Second World War, which have now been converted and colourfully given a peaceful purpose. The basis are GMC DUKWs (colloquially known as "Ducks"). The first Duck tour company was founded in 1946 by Mel Flath and Bob Unger in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin.
