Le Corbusier (his real name was: Charles-Édouard Jeanneret) was a Swiss-French architect, architectural theorist, town planner, painter, draftsman, sculptor and furniture designer. He was one of the most influential architects of the 20th century and stands for minimalist and future-oriented buildings, planning modern residential complexes and even entire cities. He wanted to be perfect in all areas, be it architecture, art or design. His “Voiture Minimum” small car concept was also revolutionary.

The simple, teardrop-shaped small car offered space for four passengers - three seats in the front and one seat in the rear that was positioned transversely to the direction of travel. Driven by a rear engine, the two designers imagined the future of the automobile. When designing the small car, Le Corbusier followed strict geometrical rules and placed functionality above aesthetics. A difficult approach at a time when the automobile should above all be "beautiful" and function was of secondary importance.
