The Prague coachbuilding company Oldřich-Uhlík, was along with Sodomka, Brožík, Petera and J.O. Jech among the best not only in Czechoslovakia. It produced unique creations for chassis of the renowned brands such as Bugatti, Mercedes-Benz, Minerva and Rolls-Royce. Oldřich Uhlík learned the trade at the famous wheel-wrights school in Kašperské Hory. As a talented young man, he joined the Laurin & Klement company in Mladá Boleslav after school. In the early 1920s he founded his own company. By 1927 he was independent of his initial investors.

 

This Bugatti Type 43 was built in 1927 by Oldřich Uhlík. The body was recovered a few years ago in poor condition. The chassis no. 43217 was restored and turned into a very nice roadster. The body was rebuilt from another chassis and authentic parts.
