Touring
The coach builder Touring was founded in Milan in 1926. For 40 years, some of the most beautiful cars ever built left the noble vehicle factory until it was all over in 1966. Carrozzeria Marazzi, which has been a subcontractor for touring for some time, took over some of the equipment and continued some projects. Touring was founded in 1926 by Felice Bianchi Anderloni. The partner in the management was his friend Gaetano Ponzoni. Both had studied law. Touring made a name for itself with its patented Superleggera construction (Italian for "super light") for body construction. Famous pre-war vehicles were made primarily on Alfa Romeo 6C and Alfa Romeo 8C chassis. Touring also built a BMW 328 for the Mille Miglia, which also crossed the finish line in 1940 with Huschke von Hanstein and Walter Bäumer and is still a lap record holder with an average speed of 166.7 km / h. Many elements of the design of the BMW 328 Mille Miglia were found in the Jaguar XK 120 a few years later.
