In the 1950s, Bausparkasse Schwäbisch Hall owned a fleet of VW T1 flatbed trucks that were given a special body. The three loading flaps of the vehicle were removed and a plexiglass cover was mounted on the loading area. Under the “Snow White coffin-like” plexiglass dome there was a kind of diorama with five example houses, a green area and figures. Since the Bausparkasse wanted to have such a car again for advertising purposes, years ago another VW bus was elaborately recreated as a replica of the show bus by Stephan Meyer, a classic car specialist from Hall. After 55 years, however, one of only 15 VW demo flatbed transporters specially made for Bausparkasse Schwäbisch Hall has reappeared.
