The Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser was an upper mid-range station wagon built by Oldsmobile, a General Motors (GM) brand, from 1964 to 1977.
General Motors (GM) took over the company originally founded as R. E. Olds Motor Car Company by Ransom Eli Olds in 1908 and continued to use the Oldsmobile brand until 2004. Oldsmobile was one of the longest-running brands of automobiles after Peugeot. Approximately 35 million Oldsmobiles have been produced in the brand's 107-year history. The discontinuation of the brand cost GM around 1 billion dollars because it had to buy back the inventory of vehicles and parts from the 2800 or so Oldsmobile dealers.
